Direct Marketing Educational Foundation (DMEF)
Since 1989, Polk has sponsored a Direct Marketing Educational Foundation (DMEF) collegiate event. Originally an event aimed at college students, the focus has shifted in recent years to professors. The thought is that more students can be reached by having professors pass on the knowledge.
These events differ each year and focus on providing real-life resources to use as teaching aids with students. As a result, the attendees depart with an enhanced knowledge of direct marketing and an appreciation of how it works within the automotive industry.
The Direct Marketing Educational Foundation was chartered more than 37 years ago to further direct marketing education at the college and university level. It coordinates 15 – 20 programs a year for college students and professors, including conferences and seminars, an internship program and a direct marketing campaign competition.
