Position Summary:
Using consultative selling techniques, this position is responsible for selling the organization’s products/services via telephone, with responsibility for closing new business sales.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Adapts a suggested outline for how to approach customers and close deals.
- Generates prospective customers through cold calling.
- Closes sales generated by cold calling.
- Calls prospective customers to explain type of service or product offered.
- Quotes prices and tries to persuade customer to purchase product and/or service.
- Answers customer questions, such as pricing, scheduling, shipping, and questions or problems regarding company products.
- Strives to achieve specific sales goals while always maintaining quality standards of presentation and proper adherence to client requirements.
- Records all information needed for set-up of an account into Salesforce.com and maintains history of transactions and notes for complete customer profile.
- Effectively utilizes various sales tools provided to enhance skill level and increase the volume and profitability of sales to customer base.
- Answers calls received from customers and Customer Development Executives and moves the customer from information-seeking to purchasing the product.
- Keeps management informed of any pertinent changes regarding customer recommendations/suggestions and/or changes in the competitive environment.
- Acquires and maintains thorough knowledge of the products/services within area of responsibility.
- Acquires and maintains knowledge of the automotive and/or dealer industry.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- May participate in monitoring sessions for clients upon request and provides feedback to account management and clients on script suggestions, etc.
- May run queries and create reports as needed.
- Performs other duties as requested by management.

Works with customers, production teams, sales support and billing
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with six months to one-year prior experience and proven track record selling business-to-business products or services or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- General knowledge of the automotive/dealer industry.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Has experience using databases, software applications and Microsoft Office programs.
- Ability to anticipate and handle difficult customer situations.
- Ability to learn and understand Polk’s data, products, and services and their uses for the automotive and/or dealer industry.
- Strong negotiation skills required.
Other Requirements:
Core selling hours are between 8:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Employees may be required to work a set schedule based on business needs to ensure phone coverage during these core hours.
