Senior Financial Analyst

Position Summary:

Responsible for preparing financial statements and business information for upper management, including analysis and other supporting schedules. Performs financial analysis including revenue and expense performance comparisons and non-financial measures relevant to the business unit and the company as a whole. Responsible for analysis and preparation of forecasts and ad hoc analysis as requested by management. Responsible for analysis of sales results and preparation of sales incentive compensation plans.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Creates monthly financial reports and variance analysis on revenue, expense and profitability. Distributes reports to the appropriate VPs.
  • Responds promptly to ad-hoc financial and operational inquiries from the various business units. Explains the meaning of reports, reviewing analysis with VPs.
  • Reconciles monthly sales at the end of each billing cycle. Prepares various sales reports by team, territory, individual and customer for distribution.
  • Updates the FoxPro database on a periodic basis with the up-to-date information, which is housed in PeopleSoft.
  • Maintains product coding data. Responsible for sales reconciliation and analysis on product coding, verifications of accurate reporting and reclassifies the product and notifies appropriate teams of any corrections. Produces product matrix on a monthly basis by business unit. Produces sales by customer report on a quarterly basis. Maintain current product code structure by working with Product Strategy on new product development and reporting.
  • Prepares the annual budgets for Strategic Markets, Quality and Global Marketing / Product Strategy business units. Performs trending analysis and updates the quarterly forecast for these units.
  • Updates monthly and quarterly sales incentive compensation plans by individual. Prepares analysis and summary of individual standings each month for distribution to the Sr. VPs.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors’ Degree in Accounting/Finance with 5+ years accounting/finance experience
  • Three to five years accounting/finance experience
  • Experience with JD Edwards
  • Advanced PC skills including Excel and Word
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with both internal and external contacts.
  • Requires the ability to exercise appropriate and independent decision-making.
  • Previous experience using financial software systems required, JD Edwards preferred.

  • Ability to adapt conventional accounting and record keeping functions to computerized processes.
