Enterprise Messaging Architect

Position Summary:

Support Operational components of Polk Global Automotive Enterprise Messaging and Data warehouse architecture.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provides architectural and 'big picture' oversight for development of new or enhanced systems, networks, and products.
  • Create documentation of system functionality and potential optimization points.
  • Create metrics and reports of system for identifying possible improvement points.
  • Create innovative technical solutions for business problems.
  • Responsible for establishing current and long-range direction of TIBCO EMS architecture to support the company’s product and service offerings.
  • Acts as highest-level technical expert, addressing problems of systems integration, compatibility, and multiple platforms.
  • Support architecture components including 2-, 3-, and 4-tier architectures, which also encompasses data warehousing and web delivery.
  • Develops large Enterprise server infrastructure solutions focused on high availability and security.
  • Implement business processes in Tibco Business works to the work group level.
  • Develop and implement initiatives using TIBCO JMS server, Business Works, Integration Manager and Tibco Hawk.
  • Design the messaging layer and Business Works processes.
  • Define roles for users and groups for EMS server.
  • Create Maps (using Tibco Contivo utility) which bridges the messages to any WSDL
  • Create adapters using mapping and functions to map incoming variables to outgoing variables.
  • Use various in-built functions like File, HTTP and JDBC etc.
  • Install and define TIBCO Products on different platforms.
  • Develop Framework to test the environment.
  • Use internal functions of Java to access XML function and write the output as XML
  • Develops server capacity plans and proactive monitoring.
  • Develops and implements fault tolerant, highly redundant, highly secure, and scalable Enterprise Networking solutions.
  • Assists in the development of application services optimization strategy.
  • Mentors and trains entry-level technical support staff.
  • Works with customers to better understand requirements.
  • Works with vendors for the testing and implementation of new technologies.
  • Performs feasibility analysis on potential future projects to management.
  • Leads the development of business processes and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of SOA architecture and middleware technologies (JBOSS).
  • Working knowledge of J2EE technologies (EJB, MDB etc.)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or Information Technology with 10 or more years related technical experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Requires strong conceptual thinking and the ability to effectively communicate technical or abstract concepts.
  • Advanced multiple languages skills in XML, XSD, Java, Oracle reports
  • Advanced knowledge of such platforms as UNIX, Windows operating system and web.
  • Understands data files and common data processing functions.
  • Understands the methodology to define, analyze and design an automated solution.
  • Proficient at using testing tools (Debugger).
  • Knowledgeable of multiple file access methods, including databases.
  • Advanced knowledge of hardware and operating system capabilities in multiple environments.
  • Understand connections between platforms and how to move data between them.
  • Ability to competently navigate/operate platform specific command sets, utilities, and tools
  • Can successfully operate language compilers, language interpreters, and system outputs (e.g.: JES logs, UNIX command outputs, log files).
  • Knowledgeable in available file management systems and their use.
  • Ability to use code debugging tools (e.g.: Forte).
  • Has the ability to develop a financial business case.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem solving and leadership/facilitation skills.
  • Understanding of IP including routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP, preferably in an ISP environment.
  • Knowledge of WAN transport protocols such as ATM, Frame Relay, or IP preferably in an ISP or eCommerce environment.
  • Experience in UNIX and/or LINUX systems.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
