Business Process Analyst
Position Summary:
This position plans and performs analysis of major company activities and/or functions and guides the subsequent design and implementation or improvement of an existing ERP system.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Charts existing business processes in order to define current business activities for the development of procedures and models.
- Participates in meetings to define business, financial, and operations requirements and system goals.
- Responsible for understanding the organization’s business systems and industry requirements.
- Ensures internal customers needs analysis is in alignment with business initiatives.
- Researches, reviews and analyzes existing processes and develops strategies/enhancements.
- Researches new procedures to enhance business processes, operations and information process flow.
- Analyzes information, methods, systems and procedures to determine the most useful business solutions to the company.
- Studies and tests interaction between systems to take advantage of new and more effective ways of providing needed information.
- Prepares and delivers reports, recommendations or alternatives for process improvement in operating systems across the organization.
- Identifies and establishes scope and parameters of process analysis in order to define impact, outcome criteria, and measure-taking actions.
- Performs cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for management.
- Develops, standardizes, and maintains new or improved processes based on findings and analysis.
- Creates process change by integrating new processes with existing ones.
- Communicates changes to impacted Business Systems teams.
- Creates process models, specifications, diagrams and charts for system programmers.
- Develops budgets and timeframes for process changes in order to support company objectives.
- Acts as a liaison between various groups to facilitate implementation of new or improved business processes.
- Collaborates in the planning, design, development and deployment of new applications and enhancements to existing applications.
- Coordinates and performs tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new processes, and other post implementation support.
- Works with functional groups within IT and internal business clients to develop short- and long-term system plans.
- Assists with research on software and hardware products.
- Makes recommendations on purchasing efforts.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, computer science, finance or management information systems with at least five to eight years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with business and technical requirements analysis, business process modeling/mapping, methodology development and data modeling.
- Experience in the operation and analysis of database hardware, software and standards, as well as data retrieval methodologies and mainframe applications.
- Advanced knowledge of importing data for use in report software, spreadsheets, graphs and flowcharts.
- Ability to create systematic and manual operations procedures in both technical and user-friendly language.
- Ability to apply statistical and other research methods into systems issues and products as required.
- Knowledge of C++, JAVA and C programming languages.
- Knowledge of current network hardware, protocols.
- Knowledge of standards such as AS/400 I Series, Windows operating system and databases such as SQL Server, Oracle and DB2.
- Knowledge of importing data for use in financial report software, spreadsheets, graphs, and flow charts.
- Advanced experience with core financial software applications and reporting tools including JD Edwards One World XE & ERP 5 & 8, Peoplesoft Enterprise and Enterprise One, FoxPro, Showcase.
- Excellent project management skills and project management software skills, including Microsoft Project., WBS Chart Pro, Pert Graphing, Visio, Gantt charts and bar charts.
Other Requirements:
Required to be on-call as needed for emergency situations.
